– The parking lot at 123rd Street is partially open on the south side of the lot.

BEACH NOURISHMENT PROJECT DEMOBILIZATION UPDATE

The Parking Lot and Access to the Beach at 123rd Street remain closed during the demobilization of the beach nourishment project. A portion of the 123rd Street beach, closest to the crossover, is closed for storage and removal of the subline pipe. To access the open portion of the 123rd Street beach, please use the crossover at the 122nd Street.

The approximate date for completion of the project is Friday, July 28th, barring any weather or equipment maintenance delays.

UPDATE: BEACH NOURISHMENT PROJECT DEMOBILIZATION

Demobilization of equipment, pipe and supplies is in progress via 123rd Street.

–  The 123rd Street Beach and Parking Lot are closed until further notice for demobilization operations.

– A sinkhole was discovered and excavated by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock at the Outfall at 111th Street. The sinkhole was inspected by USACE, NJDEP, Stone Harbor Public Works and GLDD. The source of the sinkhole was at the 45 degree mechanical joint fitting of the outfall pipe and will be repaired by Stone Harbor Public Works, as it was determined to be existing damage and NOT caused by the beach-fill project.

– The Dredge, Texas, and Booster are now off site and currently located at Cape May Inlet.

– Dredge Texas pumped: 727,755 CY, 100% complete (per GLDD).

– Beachfill operation completed as of, 7/17/23.

BEACH CLOSURE AND BEACH NOURISHMENT UPDATE

–  The 123rd Street crossover, beach and parking lot are currently closed for demobilization operations.

– The Dredge, Texas, & Booster are currently off site at the Cape May Inlet.

– The subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street has been taken offshore this morning.

– The disassembling of shore pipes from south to north is complete, with exception of the long sections of pipe between 115th and 119th Streets. Those pipes are  in the process of being cut  and will be consolidated at 123rd Street beach with the rest of the stored shore pipe.

– Demobilization of equipment, pipe and supplies is in progress via 123rd street.

– Dredge Texas pumped: 727,755 CY, 100% complete (per GLDD).

– Beach fill operation completed as of July 17, 2023.

– Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street

– Dredge Texas pumped approximately 16,665 CY onto beach on 7/17/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/17/23, 2400 hours): 727,755 CY, 100% complete (per GLDD).

– Beachfill operation completed as of yesterday, 7/17/23.

– Disassembling of shore pipes from south to north in progress and consolidating at 123rd St beach.

– Demobilization of equipment from the beach to commence on 7/20/23.

July 17, 2023: Beach Nourishment Update – Sand Pumping Complete, Demobilization to Begin

Great Lakes Dredge and Dock has completed pumping sand onto Stone Harbor beaches this morning. Pipes are being washed out clean to be disassembled for demobilization. The demobilization will start from the south and move north. The majority of this work will happen after hours, so beaches will be accessible. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co. plans to have all of the pipes removed from the beach by Wednesday morning.

– Currently the 123rd street/beach south to the terminal groin is closed for the beach nourishment operations.

– Most advanced basket discharge station: 123rd Street at the groin

– The Dredge, Texas, & Booster are onsite working in the Townsends Inlet borrow area,

– Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street

– Dredge Texas pumped approximately 32,283 CY onto beach on 7/15/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/12/23, 2400 hours): 711,090 CY, 97.89 % complete (per GLDD).

– Dredge Texas pumped approximately 15,429 CY onto beach on 7/17/23 from 0000 hours to 0900 hours.
