National Disaster Resilience Competition Application Public Comment Period & Hearings have been scheduled.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is accepting public comment on the State’s proposed plan to submit an application for approximately $1 billion in federal funding through the CDBG-NDRC, the National Disaster Resilience Competition.  The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)- created competition seeks to build resilient communities in areas struck by natural disaster in recent years.  New Jersey proposed to use these funds to make riverine and estuarine communities more resilient.  For More Information, visit www.nj.gov/dep/floodhazard.

Those individuals who are interested in speaking at the public hearings will be given up to three minutes.  Interested parties can sign up to comment at the registration table the day of the hearings.  Residents who need accessibility accommodations are advised to contact the New Jersey Department of Enviromental Protection at Kerry.Pflugh@dep.nj.gov to ensure full availability of services.

The Public Comment Period runs from February 20, 2015 to march 6th, 2015 at 5:00 pm EST.  Those who wish to provide public comment can do so in the following ways:
