It’s time to winterize! If you do not plan to occupy your home for the winter season the Borough of Stone Harbor strongly encourages winterization. Please ensure that summer homes and irrigation systems are properly winterized.
Colder weather is approaching and frozen/broken pipes can result in substantial damage to your home, in addition to unnecessary wasted water loss. Please be aware that the Borough does not offer forgiveness for water charges that accumulate due to a water leak. Your water bill will reflect charges for all water that passes through your water meter. If the Department of Utilities is dispatched to your property in the event the water must be turned off as a result of an emergency, such as frozen pipes causing leaks, the service charge is $250.
