96th Street Bridge Openings Temporarily Suspended

96^th Street Bridge (CR 657) over Great Channel

     The 96^th Street Bridge over Great Channel is currently closed to operations of the bascule span due to emergency mechanical issues.  Vessels can pass beneath the bridge, but the bridge is not operable for vessels requiring openings. It is anticipated that this condition will exist until the end of May 2022 at which time repair crews will replace the defective bridge components. Tentatively crews are scheduled to perform the repairs beginning on May 16^th. Work is expected to take approximately (1) one week to complete. Cape May County anticipates that normal operations of the bridge will resume on May 23, 2022. A notice of resuming normal operations will be published at that time.
