NOTICE OF DETOUR AND FINAL PAVING

Third Avenue (Cr 619) from 99th to 80th Street

Beginning on Monday June 9, 2025, surface course paving will commence along Third Avenue (Cr 619) from 99th Street to 80th Street. This will be the final paving operation of the roadway project and will include the installation of a 2” thick surface course. The paving operation will begin at 80th Street and continue in a southern direction to 99th Street. This first operation will involve paving one half of the roadway width of the main line of Third Avenue. This process is expected to take one day. On Tuesday, the process will continue from 99th Street heading north to 80th Street with the completion of the remaining one-half road width paving. On Wednesday, intersection tie ins will be paved, and traffic striping and markings will be installed . The paving operation is expected to be completed on Thursday, weather permitting.

In order to safely and efficiently execute the work, the roadway from 99th to 80th Stret will be closed to thru traffic. Local traffic will be maintained, and residents will always have access to their homes and businesses will remain open. The hours of active construction will be from 7:00am to 6:00pm. The roadway will be re-opened to traffic at the end of each day.

Traffic heading north along Third Avenue will be detoured east onto 100 Street then to Second Avenue where they will head north. Traffic will continue along Second Avenue to 80th Street where they will be directed west back to Third Avenue. Traffic heading south along Third Avenue will be directed east to 80th Street then south along Second Avenue. Traffic will continue south along Second Avenue to 100th Street, where traffic will be directed west back to Third Avenue.

Traffic heading east along 96th Street will be directed to continue east to Second Avenue. During the paving operation, the intersection of 96th Street will be milled and paved. In order to complete this paving, the northerly half of the 96th Street intersection will be closed off for resurfacing, while traffic is shifted to the southerly side of the intersection. This operation will flip upon completion of the resurfacing of the northerly side of the intersection. At that point, both lanes will be shifted to the north side of the intersection as the southerly side is resurfaced. paved. Traffic will be maintained thru the intersection, but there will be a lane shift.

Motorists are urged to use caution through the work zone.
