“Hydrant Flushing Program” on or about  Monday November 10, 2014.

Hydrant Flushing is required by the State DEP.  The reason for the program is to remove rust from our water mains pipes, move stagnated water from our  dead end streets and low flow areas.

We are informing the public so that if they experience discolored water from their tap water and showers.   If water is discolored homeowners should remove the screens from the faucets and run tub  water until the water is clear.

The schedule will be as follows:

-80th to 111th on First Avenue

-80th to 122nd on Second Avenue

-122nd to 80th on Third Avenue which includes the bay side circles.

Once the “Hydrant Program” is complete we will be cleaning our “Storm Drains” on the same schedule as the hydrants.
