New Fishing Pier Dedication

The Borough of Stone Harbor officially opened the new 83^rd Street Fishing Pier with Mayor Suzanne Walters casting a fishing line into the water.  The new pier offers plenty of room for fishing and crabbing, benches, fish cleaning station, handicap accessibility and beautiful views overlooking the back bay.   The Wetlands Institute provided monofilament recycling stations at the pier and was on hand for the dedication with a touch tank which included starfish and various crabs.  Children participating in the fishing/crabbing camp offered by the Stone Harbor Recreation Department were invited and enjoyed the interaction with the sea creatures!
