NOTICE TO MARINERS: The US Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting maintenance dredging of portions of the federal channel of the NJ Intracoastal Waterway in Stone Harbor September 21st through 24th. The 104′ Dredge Merritt will arrive on September 19th and will be berthed at the 80th St. Marina using the outside bulkhead. Mariners should be aware of dredging operations in this area and proceed with caution.
The Merritt, homeported out of the USACE Wilmington (NC) District, will be dredging the channel intermittently to evaluate an innovative sidecasting method as part of ongoing initiatives under the Seven Mile Island Innovation Lab.
