October 5, 2022 – A message from the Stone Harbor Department of Public Works
FLOODING
Flooding was lower than expected for yesterday’s high tide as well as this morning’s high tide. With the winds shifting to the northwest and dropping in speed, improvement is expected for tonight’s high tide as well.
STREETS
The “road closure” signs at 99th, 96th and 95th Streets and Third Avenue have been removed. The street sweeper will run through the streets tomorrow after the roadway and debris have sufficiently dried.
BEACHES
We continue to clean up the beach, however, access to the beach remains very unsafe due to vertical cuts in the sand that exceed 8 feet high in some areas. All residents and visitors must remain off the beaches and dunes for the foreseeable future.
MARINA
The floodgates at the boat ramp will be removed today.
