New Stone Harbor Police Officer Richard Boyle receives his badge

The Stone Harbor Police Department welcomes Officer Richard J. Boyle III to the department as a full-time police officer.  Officer Boyle’s hiring was unanimously approved by the Stone Harbor Borough Council during a meeting held Tuesday, August 6th.  Officer Boyle was administered his oath of office from Stone Harbor Municipal Clerk Susan Stanford and received his badge from his grandfather, Richard Boyle.Officer Boyle was hired by the Stone Harbor Police Department in December, 2010 as a Special Law Enforcement Officer before attending the Cape May County Police Academy in 2011.  He has served the Borough for the past three summers working as a seasonal officer in Stone Harbor.

“The Stone Harbor Police Department is deeply grateful to Mayor Suzanne Walters, the entire Borough Council, and to Councilman Al Carusi who chairs the Public Safety Committee, for filling this vacant position”, said Stone Harbor Police Chief Paul Reynolds.

Officer Boyle resides in Tuckerton, New Jersey and holds an Associate’s degree from Ocean County College and will soon acquire his Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.  He fills a vacancy created in the Stone Harbor Police Department via a retirement.
