Increase Resource Efficiency

  • Turn off lights, computers, and electronics when not in use
  • Use rechargeable batteries
  • Set electronics to use energy saver features and replace incandescent lights
  • Save water with low flow shower heads and other water saving products
  • Purchase Energy Star or other types of energy rated products
  • Use email instead of the mail
  • Use both sides of paper when making copies
  • Walk whenever possible
  • Ride bikes or bike share
  • Car pool or car share
  • Re-think transportation methods and use public transit whenever possible

Choose to Re-Use

  • Use reusable mugs (coffee, soda, etc…)
  • Use reusable bags instead of plastic
  • Pack lunches in reusable containers
  • Buy products made from recycled materials
  • Print drafts on the back side of used paper
  • Make notepads from used paper
  • Donate used equipment and furniture
  • Compost organic materials
