The Borough of Stone Harbor will be closing a parking lot and a small section of Second Avenue to the public to allow for the removal of some steel pipe following a successful reconstruction of the Stone Harbor beachfront.

The public parking lot located at 123rd Street and Second Avenue in Stone Harbor will be closed on Thursday and Friday, August 15th and 16th between the hours of 6:00am and Noon.  In addition, both the northbound and southbound lanes of Second Avenue from 122nd Street to 123rd Street will be closed during that time.  The closures are necessary to permit Norfolk Dredging Company to safely load steel pipe used for the recent beach fill project onto trucks and exit the community.  This heavy equipment will leave Stone Harbor for Norfolk’s next project in New York.

It is possible that the parking lot and small portion of Second Avenue will be closed on Saturday, August 17th from 6:00am until 10:00am if the off load project is not completed by Noon on Friday.
