Rough seas have delayed the removal of the sub-line from the Avalon beach and its relocation to complete the connection from the dredge location to the booster pump. While there may be a small window of opportunity on Friday morning, most likely it will be finished by late Monday or Tuesday.

Currently, the dredge, Texas, and the booster pump are moored in Cape May Harbor and the projected start date for pumping sand onto Stone Harbor beaches is May 30, 2023. It is anticipated that there will be minimal activity on the beach over the upcoming holiday weekend.

For those that are concerned about the Oyster Catcher nest at 117th Street, we are pleased to inform you that the nest is not expected to interfere with the beach fill, as no sand is anticipated in that area.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges. Our team is working diligently to deliver a successful project. Additional updates will be provided as the project progresses.
