Important Information – July 4th Fireworks (2023)

July 3, 2023

A cherished tradition continues as Stone Harbor gears up to celebrate Independence Day with a fantastic fireworks display on the evening of July 4th!

Set from a barge off the 95th Street beach, the fireworks will commence at dusk, approximately 9:15 pm. It’s an event not to be missed! However, there are a few important things to note to ensure you have a memorable and hassle-free experience.

Prime Fireworks Viewing: To witness the fireworks, find a cozy spot along Stone Harbor’s beautiful beachfront. However, please be aware that due to the ongoing beach replenishment project, some beaches south of 110th Street may not be accessible.  This project operates 24/7, but rest assured the end result will be beautiful and enhanced beaches, but it means that 4-6 blocks of beachfront will be temporarily unavailable on July 4th. Currently beaches are closed from 110th St. – 111th St., but it is anticipated that beaches will be closed through 114th Street as the day progresses. Updates will be posted as the information is received.

Navigating Beach Access: For visitors heading to the beach, it’s essential to be mindful of the large subline piping installed along our beaches south of 91st Street. To ensure your safety, designated crossovers have been constructed at each beach entrance. These crossovers provide a secure way to traverse the pipe and access the beach. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this necessary operation, but the future benefits of an enhanced beach will be well worth it.

Stone Harbor’s Independence Day celebrations are meant to be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors. With the much-anticipated fireworks display and ongoing beach replenishment project, it’s important to plan your visit accordingly. Take note of the accessible beach areas and utilize the designated crossovers for a safe beach experience. Enjoy the holiday and celebrate the spirit of independence in Stone Harbor!
