  • Currently beaches from 121st Street through 123rd Street are closed due to beach nourishment operations.
  • The protected beach at 122nd Street is closed (no lifeguards)
  • Most advanced basket discharge station: 121st Street
  • The Dredge, Texas, is being towed from Townsends Inlet into Cape May Inlet for repairs.
  • The Booster is onsite waiting for repairs to the dredge, Texas, to be completed in Cape May Inlet. GLDD did not give an estimate for when the repairs and tow back to the borrow area is expected
  • Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street
  • Dredge Texas pumped approximately 10,598 CY onto beach on 7/9/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/9/23, 2400 hours): 578,971 CY, 79.00 % complete (per GLDD).
  • Dredge Texas pumped approximately 1,141  CY onto beach on 7/10/23 from 0000 hours to 0700 hours

Daily Beach Nourishment Update and Beach Closures:

  • Currently Beaches are Closed from 121st to 122nd streets for beach nourishment operations.
  • Protected Beach closed at 122nd Street
  • Most advanced basket discharge station: 121st Street
  • The Dredge, Texas, and Booster are on site waiting for repairs to the air valve on the float hose, repairs are being done in CM Inlet. GLDD estimates the repairs and tow back to TI with reconnection to the dredge to be mid-afternoon early evening.
  • Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street
  • Dredge, Texas, pumped approximately 27,234CY onto beach on 7/8/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/8/23, 2400 hours): 568,373 CY, 77.55 % complete (per GLDD).
  • Dredge Texas pumped approximately 0 CY onto beach on 7/9/23 from 0000 hours to 0700 hours.

July 8, 2023: Beach Nourishment Update and Beach Closures (120th St. through 123rd St.)

BEACH CLOSURES & BEACH NOURISHMENT UPDATE:

  • Beaches are currently closed from 120th to 123rd Streets for beach nourishment operations.
  • Protected beaches are closed at 120th St. and 122nd St. (no lifeguards)
  • Most advanced basket discharge station: 120th St.
  • The Dredge, Texas, and Booster are on site and working.
  • GLDD will be fixing the shore pipe leaks around 92nd & 102nd Streets sometime around 1:00pm when the Dredge, Texas, stops pumping and moves to another Borrow Cut. Orange safety fence around the pipe leaks have been installed.
  • Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street
  • Dredge Texas pumped approximately 31,119 CY onto beach on 7/7/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/7/23, 2400 hours): 541,139 CY, 73.83% complete (per GLDD).
  • Dredge Texas pumped approximately 13,148 CY onto beach on 7/8/23 from 0000 hours to 0700 hours.

The beach-fill has been completed south to the 115th street taper, Great Lakes  Dredge and Dock finished piping through the 119th street taper and is now filling south of 119th Street. Each street end north of the current work area has a ramp over the beach pipe for public use.

– Currently, beaches from 119th to 122nd Streets are closed for beach nourishment operations.

– Expect intermittent closures of the 123rd Street parking lot for mobilization/storage of equipment and supplies

– Most advanced basket discharge station: 119th Street

– The Dredge, Texas and Booster are on site and working

– Subline landing in Stone Harbor at 91st Street

– Dredge, Texas, pumped approximately 11,064 CY onto beach on 7/6/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/6/23, 2400 hours): 510,020 CY, 69.59% complete (per GLDD).

– Dredge, Texas, pumped approximately 7,418 CY onto beach on 7/7/23 from 0000 hours to 0700 hours.

JULY 6, 2023: BEACH CLOSURES & BEACH NOURISHMENT UPDATE

– Beaches are currently closed from 112th to 120th Streets for beach nourishment operation and the movement of equipment to the south. (Today GLDD continues making a move through between the two tapers) once the move is completed beach closures will be reduced to 1000’ at 118th street to the south.

– Expect intermittent closures of the 123rd Street parking lot for mobilization/storage of equipment and supplies.

– Most advanced basket discharge station: 114th Street

– The Dredge Texas and Booster are on site and working.

– Subline landing in Stone Harbor: 91st Street

– Dredge Texas pumped approximately 15,359 CY onto beach on 7/5/23 from 0000 hours to 2400 hours; total placed on beach to date (7/5/23, 2400 hours): 498,956 CY, 68.08% complete (per GLDD).

– Dredge Texas pumped approximately 6,871 CY onto beach on 7/6/23 from 0000 hours to 0700 hours.

July 5-6, 2023 Beach Closures due to Beach Fill Project

July 5, 2023

Today only, July 5, 2023, beaches from 110th Street through 120th Street are closed as equipment and piping are being moved as part of the beach fill operation. Protected beaches at 110th St., 112th St., 117th St. and 120th St. are closed, as well.

For tomorrow, July 6th, it is anticipated that beaches will be closed from 117th St. through 121st St.
